This post was inspired by tumblr user ranthimi's post about questionable behavior in alterhuman spaces. Let me set the scene for you. It's 2015-- Series 9 of Doctor Who was airing, Barack Obama was in the White House, and everything in the world was, if not good, somewhat better than it is now. I, however, … Continue reading Katrina’s Suspicious Behavior
View the full list of prompts here. "How did you come to your path?" I'll be honest here: I wasn't gonna do this one. Conversion stories are boring, and for this ex-evangelical, borderline traumatic. But due to recent events, it seems like I have no choice, so... here goes. The story of how I, a … Continue reading 31 Days of Spiritual Journaling, Day Two (late as fuck)

It’s just something that’s really stuck in my mind from way back when. The word “evil” is used so lightly and frequently in Christianity, and you don’t realize how very real the belief is until you think of saying “but I’m not evil” and you know exacty the reaction you’d receive.
You think, but of course they really know that a baby who was just born can’t be evil – nope, they don’t. Every impulse of our hearts is evil, even as four-year-olds who really want a brownie that was supposed to be for the PTA meeting…

Hello, loyal readers, and welcome to day one of Cass Reads Stranger in a Strange Land! Conversation with my Patron. Usually I don't share these, as they're kind of private, but this one needs to be here, for context. Me: I'm sorry, but I can't find the will to keep blogging anymore after the stalking scare. I feel like a disappointment to You and to my title. LR: I understand, my … Continue reading A funny thing happened on the way to becoming a book blogger…
My hands are shaking as I type this. I know people say that a lot, but this is the most terrified I've felt since I moved up to Ohio. If you are a member of my biological family, I DO NOT WANT YOU READING THIS BLOG. I do not want your money. I do not … Continue reading A warning to my bespoke stalker.

So I have spent the past few weeks having revelations. As per usual, this happened when I wasn’t at all trying to do it, and had even half-decided to take a break from actively practicing pop culture paganism - I’ve really been in the habit of holding myself back when it comes to PCP, although … Continue reading Pop Culture Paganism and Religious Trauma: Why I Worship at the Altar of Things, by Fin Lockhart (GUEST POST)
Hi all! We’re the Violent Trans Empire, a multiple system composed of two people: Skylar, the host, and Missy, a Doctor Who fictive. We’re in an in-system relationship, which is usually the most We tell people about Ourselves, but there’s much more to it than that. It would be nice to have an easy way … Continue reading GUEST POST: Kink and Devotion, with the Violent Trans Empire
